HISTORY

Since january 2000 till present, I am with Signal Processing Applications Research Group, GAPS, working towards my PhD degree. In my PhD work I am applying Digital Prolate Spheroidal Sequencies (DPSS) in different aspects in wideband radio systems. The beggining of my research was related to spreading codes for MC-CDMA that are based on DPSS and that results in symbol that does not requiere time redundancy (CP, ZP,..). However, these sequencies can give solution to other problems aspects, like beamforming in wider angle spread channels or to allow compatibility of DS-CDMA wideband systems that overlayed narrowband systems. Therefore, in my Thesis those applications will be analysed as well.

In June 1999 I obtained a Dipl Ing title from  School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade (Elektrotehnicki Fakultet  Univerziteta u Beogradu); It was homologated by Spanish Ministery of Homologado Education,l Culture and Sports (Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deportes ) to the spanish degree of Ingeniero de Telecomunicación (May 2001)

DOCENT WORK

I give classes in lab of the Signal Lab course given for the UPM's Master Title.

RESEARCH AREAS

Principal research topics can be resumed in the following areas of signal processing for communications:

  • multicarrier modulations and their performance in radio channels
  • multiple access techniques based on code distinction between users (DS-CDMA and MC-CDMA) and their performance in radio channels
  • Aplications of DPSS in wideband radio systems
  • Modeling of wideband radio channels, especially spatial characteristics
