José Luis Blanco Murillo holds a Doctorate in Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and is specialized in automatic speech processing, complex systems' analysis and modelling, and the automatic detection of clinical pathologies through speech analysis.


In 2007 he joined the Signal Processing Applications Group (GAPS-UPM) where he obtained an B.Sc. / M.Sc. degree in Engineering (2007, distinction), a M.Sc. degree in Communications' Technologies and Systems (2009, distinction) and a PhD degree in Engineering (2013, cum laude distinction and International Doctorate mention). During this time he worked as a Research Fellow under the supervision of professor Dr. Luis A. Hernández Gómez.
